Welcome to Youth Ministry at St. Luke the Evangelist!

St. Luke youth ministry Mission Statement is to foster, and develop parish life and involvement; to develop a deeper relationship with Christ.Providing sound teachings grounded deeply in the teachings of Jesus Christ, providing a safe faith based environment for the youth of the parish with guidance, practice and example from a committed Parish community, parish adult and youth leaders.

1. Empowering young people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ.

2. Drawing youth to responsible participation in this community’s life mission and work, fostering each young person’s personal and spiritual growth.

3. To empower young people with knowledge and skills, to actively participate in the parish ministries and nurture positive catholic values. To help youth apply faith to daily life experiences as well as recognizing that their faith calls them to work for justice.

It’s about Discipleship…giving young people a compelling and challenging vision of life and a cause worth their commitment

It’s about Connection…feeding a young person’s hunger for connection,to be in relationship, and to belong

It’s about Gifts and Growth…fostering the total personal and spiritualgrowth of each young person

Youth Ministry…it takes an entire Parish!

    Youth Ministry Shout Out:

A Message From Ivonne Melendrez, Youth Minister
As Youth Ministry begins to develop a calendar and core team for Jr. High and High School-aged ministry, we are seeking youth, young and ‘seasoned’ adults who are willing to share their time and talent with Jr. High and High School students. We are looking to empower and nourish our teens to stand “Firm in their faith.” During World Youth Day in Madrid, Spain, this past summer, Pope Benedict called on young adults to be disciples of Christ. It is with this challenge that I invite you as a community of firm believers in Christ to work hand-inhand with our parish to create a strong faith community. We all have talents, and the most wonderful blessing is to share them with all whom we encounter.
Please contact the Youth Office for more information: (626) 291-5900, ext. 247, Ivonne Melendrez, or email

Attention: All high school teens - check us out and join us in the Youth Room for some fellowship and fun after the 5:30 P.M. Mass on Sunday.
