WELCOME FR. MICHAEL MEYER!

St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Community is proud to welcome their new Associate
Pastor, Fr. Michael Meyer who began his duties on July 1, 2009! He is originally from South Africa but he comes
to St. Luke Parish from St. Margaret Mary in Lomita, California where he served for five years.
His previous occupation was a high school Math and Science teacher. It was while teaching at a Catholic
school in South Central Los Angeles that he realized he was being called to the priesthood. He then attended St. John's
Seminary in Camarillo, California and was first assigned to St. Jerome in Westchester after being ordained.
His hobbies include going to the movies, cooking, hiking, and horseback riding. St. Luke is very blessed
to have Fr. Michael at our parish and we warmly welcome him. We look forward to the gifts he will bring to our community.
