FROM BLESSED TO ASHES
Many parishes have gone the easy route by ““purchasing”” the ashes for use on Ash Wednesday. I believe there is a greater symbol when the community is involved in the active celebration of the beautiful symbols used throughout our liturgical year. I am inviting parishioners to bring to the Parish Office their blessed palms from last year prior to the Sunday before Ash Wednesday (Feb. 22). For those who are able, I will burn the palms following the Tuesday, Feb. 21, 9 A.M. Mass, to be transformed into the ashes that will be blessed on Ash Wednesday. Our Lenten journey will have come full circle as our community provides the Blessed palms welcoming Jesus into Jerusalem kept as a
reminder in our homes throughout the year and returned to become the Blessed ashes to mark our foreheads...As the journey continues!

WINTER BOUTIQUE NEXT SUNDAY!

A school-sponsored Boutique will be held in the Parish Hall on Sunday, February 12, 2012, from 9:00 A.M.-4:00 P.M. Everyone is invited to come, browse, purchase unique items and enjoy some delicious food offerings from the snack bar. A great variety of craft items/baked goods will be available. For more information, or for vendor inquiries, please contact the St. Luke School Office @ 291-5959.
