About Us The Art and Environment Committee headed by Ellen Rivera are now sharing their
wonderful and creative talents with us. The role of the Art and Environment Committee is to provide a visual worship setting
within the church that promotes a relationship with our Lord. Members
of the committee create visually pleasing surroundings appropriate to the liturgical season. The visual elements are present
on the Altar and often extend through the church. This aids in providing a proper mood for worshipers. Special attention and
planning is given to the major seasons of Lent/Easter and Advent/Christmas, as well as Sundays and feasts. The committee gathers its inspiration for elements from visiting other churches, communicating with
parishioners about their ideas and religious books. The committee's mission is to work together to create and maintain a prayerful,
inspiring and religious experience. The committee wants the church to be open and inviting to the Catholic traditions of past
and present. St. Luke Parish is grateful to the members of the Art and Environment
Committee for sharing their time and talents to create a prayerful experience within the Lord's House. |
