St. Luke School Welcomes New Teachers
(September/2007)- St. Luke School welcomes four new teachers- Sister Donna Marie Appert, SND, Miss Amber Aguirre, Ms. Maria Campos, and Mrs. Lauren Perez.  Since half of the teaching staff is new, a look at these teachers will help familiarize the parish with some of the new leaders of our bright students.

Mrs. Lauren Perez is the new teacher for our Junior High grades of 6, 7, and 8.  She is the homeroom teacher for out 6th graders and she teaches religion and language arts, according to grade.

Mrs. Perez majored in Communication Studies at Loyola Marymount University and is currently attending Mount Saint Mary’s College to receive her Masters in Secondary Education.

She has previous experience in teaching, specifically, for two years at the Junior High level. She is from the Southern California area and she has attended Catholic school since Kindergarten. She recently got married this summer and is “still recuperating from the wedding planning.”

Her hobbies include spending time with her friends and family, shopping, decorating, traveling, and going to the beach and Disneyland. She was drawn to teach at St. Luke School because of the wonderful principal and staff. She hopes to bring a “helping hand and kind heart” to St. Luke School.

Ms. Maria Campos is the new 5th grade teacher.  She attended California State University at Los Angeles where she earned her B.A. in Liberal Studies, a Master's degree in Education and her clear credentials for teaching.
She was born and raised in Pasadena and continues to live in the San Gabriel Valley.

She has ten years of teaching experience under her belt.

More specifically, she has taught third grade and grades 5-8. She has taught at both public and private schools.  She was drawn to teach at St. Luke because of it's "Catholic community and the beautiful campus."

Ms. Campos loves playing with and spending time with her dog.  She also enjoys going to the beach and reading.  She hopes to bring her "ten years of teaching experience and her lifetime of knowledge of the Catholic faith" to the students of St. Luke School.

We welcome all of our new teachers to the St. Luke community and look forward to what they have to offer to our students!
