About Us November 2002 marked the beginning of Columbian Squire Circle #4779 at St.
Luke Church in Temple City. The Columbian organization seeks to provide an avenue for young men, ages 10 to 18, to stay
in touch with their church. The group has seen its membership grow since it first began. The Columbian Squire Circle
is a youth organization founded by the International Knights of Columbus organization in the early 1900s and is now over 23,000
members strong. Circle #4779 was founded at St. Luke Church because St.
Luke Knights of Columbus members wanted a youth organization at our church that could help bridge the gap between adults and
the youth. The Columbian organization seeks to bring gentlemen involved in the Knights of Columbus, who have life experience
as adults, together with our youth, who have creative ideas. Since its chartering,
members of Circle #4779 have been active at St. Luke Church, participating in various activities including the Thanksgiving
Senior Citizen Dinner and Lenten Fish Frys. The boys host Sunday greeting occasionally and work with the Knights of
Columbus with their many activities. The boys also co-host the Super Bowl Sunday event for the parish and raised money
for the flowers that were planted with the Children's Memorial. The boys also marched in the Temple City Camellia
Parade with St. Luke Knights this past February. Besides a growing list of service
projects to participate in, involvement in the group also provides support for spiritual strengthening and teaches the boys
how to live life as a young Jesus Christ. Membership in the St. Luke Columbian
Squire Circle is open year-round and meetings are held once a month. Any boys interested in joining or if anyone would
like to donate to their projects, call the Parish Office at (626) 291-5900. Point
