| 12:00 P.M. in the Parish Hall.
The cost for Vacation Bible School per child is $25 and is open for children in Kindergarten through 6th grade. This
is a wonderful way for them to enjoy themselves while becoming stronger in their faith. Volunteers help decorate each room of the Hall to be a different "land" to help make the overall
experience that much more enjoyable. Some examples include being underwater, being on a pirate ship, or being in
space. Some creative themes from previous years of VBS include the students being "Special Agents" in "Son
World," as participants in the Olympics at "Son Games", and "Kingdom of the Son," which was a
Safari theme. Each day will begin with a New Testament Bible story that will help foster the theme of making choices
that will bring you closer to Jesus. Festivities for each day will include crafts, Bible stories and many outdoor and
indoor games.
Melanie Bailey, the Director of Religious Education,
comments on her experience at Vacation Bible School saying, "I love the energy that you feel at VBS! With the assemblies,
music, great volunteers and teen aides, and wonderful kids, you really have a fun environment for growing in your faith. The
kids benefit from a thoughtful, Bible-based program that makes the stories come alive through crafts, games and music."
Snacks will be included daily and to finish off a wonderful week, the Knights of Columbus will be hosting a
Barbeque for all the Vacation Bible School families. The Office of Religious Education will be accepting applications
for both students and volunteers until July 28, 2008. Anyone interested is encouraged to pick up an application in the Parish
Office.
