About Us
The Italian Catholic Federation first began in San Francisco around 1924 to support the Italian immigrants coming to the United States, searching for a comfortable place where they could practice their faith and socialize.  Over the years the group has expanded to five different states and has around seven branches in Southern California alone.  Their goals to support their pastor and be active in their parish have remained the same, but membership has expanded to all Catholics.

The Italian Catholic Federation at St. Luke the Evangelist, with currently 60 members, has been an active organization at St. Luke Parish since 1977.  They have supported various charities throughout the years, including St. Luke Parish.  The ICF has sponsored the Italian Sausage booth at the Parish Fiesta each year since the event was rekindled in the early '80s and have since added the Fresh Fruit Booth and the Hamburger Booth to their list.  They hold two to three bake sales a year to fundraise, they have an annual picnic, a Pancake Breakfast, and usually two Stateline Turnaround trips.  Their famous event around the parish was their Spaghetti Dinners, which have recently been discontinued.  The group strives to support the parish through services and socials.

The purpose of this group is to uphold and develop the religious spirit among its members and to spread the spirit to all people outside the organization.  Prayer is integral to all gatherings throughout the year as well.  They meet with other I.C.F. branches for boutiques and St. Joseph's Table.  On the feast day of St. Frances Xavier Cabrini and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, they attend mass as a group and walk around the St. Frances parish grounds in Burbank while praying the rosary in honor of their patron saints.

Membership is open to Catholic men and women of ALL ages.  One need not be of Italian descent to be a member.  Dinner meetings are held every fourth Wednesday of the month-new and prospective members are encouraged to attend.
