Monday
Evening Scripture Study This class was formed to enable parishioners to become familiar with the Sunday Readings
prior to hearing them proclaimed at the weekend masses. Studying and sharing the readings ahead of time enables parishioners
to familiarize themselves with a scripture verse and promotes a better understanding of the practical application they intend.
Such study helps us in our everyday lives realize the message of Jesus. This group meets in the Parish Resource Center
(in the Rectory) on Monday evenings at 7:30 P.M. year 'round (except for holidays). Everyone is welcome. |
Tuesday Morning Men's Commuter Bible Study This group was originally started by Fr. Donald
Grasha and is currently carried on by previous members of the group. The purpose of this group is to provide a time
for men to come together, read and share their reflections in response to the bible readings for the following week.
Meetings are hosted by a different group member who provides munchies and coffee for fellow members. It is a great start
to any day! Any men interested may meet them in the Parish Office Room 105 at 6:00 AM Tuesday Mornings. |
Women's Bible Reflection Wednesday Mornings This bible study group for women began 4 years
ago and continues today reviewing the previous week's scripture. Each week the group shares how the Lord speaks to them
through the scriptures. It is a very comfortable and non-intimidating atmosphere, with no previous knowledge required.
They do not dissect specific parts of the Bible, but go through pieces in relation to the liturgical season's readings.
They use the "Bible Diaries" to provide them with commentary and background information on their readings.
The fourth Wednesday of each month is their fellowship day where they have sharing and potluck at a member's home or in the
Parish Resource Center. All women are invited and encouraged to come and join. They meet at 10:00 AM on Wednesday
mornings in the Parish Resource Center. |
Wednesday Evening Series
on the Letters of Paul This series started in in response to Pope Benedict XVI’s dedication of the
year from June 28, 2008-June 29, 2009 as a special jubilee year honoring the Apostle Paul to mark the bi-millennium of his
birth. This group reads and reflects on the oldest writings found in the New Testament, the letters of Paul.
They began with Paul’s letters to the Thessalonians and have then moved on to his Letters to the Romans.
They will continue to work on different letters for the rest of the year. There is no obligation and no homework.
They meet on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 P.M. in Room 403 of the Parish Hall. |
Friday Morning Scripture Class This Scripture Class is working their way through the entire
Bible with the purpose of better understanding and appreciating the Church. They began this year with the book of Exodus
and will continue their studies in order from book to book. The readings are done together during class and
are discussed with specific background information and explanation to better understand the material. The material blends
itself and there is no homework and no obligation. Anyone and everyone is welcome to join them at 10:00 AM on Friday
Mornings in the Parish Resource Center. Those interested need only bring a New American Bible. |
