About Us
This committee is open to everyone and offers information
to the parish community about the sanctity of life issues, including abortion and euthanasia. It aims to raise pro-life
consciousness in the parish and support the San Gabriel Valley Pregnancy Help Center and other pro-life organizations.
• October is Respect Life Month
The month of October is traditionally designated as Respect
Life month. The Pregnancy Help Center promotes sanctity of life in all forms. Its mission is to counsel and encourage
abortion-minded women to make better choices for themselves and their unborn child. In addition to counseling, the Pregnancy
Help Center provides support for women who need material goods, such as maternity clothes, diapers, formula, baby food and
baby clothes/furniture.
The Pregnancy Help Center would like to thank parishioners
for their support, both past and current. Your generosity enables them to continue to help those in need.
• On Respect Life Month...
On Sept. 11, and days following, the
people of the world were subjected to horrifying and unforgettable images of the terrorists attacks on multiple locations
in New York City and surrounding area. We sat transfixed and watched pictures of total devastation and heard statistics
of all the lose of life. Most of us wept. Many of us became enraged and demanded retaliation. I am sure
all of us were saddened and turned to prayer to try and find some comfort. We were all one in spirit.
Now, imagine that the same horror, weeping, rage and sadness that we felt as a world with regard
to the loss of life in New York would be felt with respect to the more than 4,000 baby human beings that die each day in the
United States due to abortion. Would abortion be so tolerable? Would so many accept abortion as a "solution"
to a "problem?" Would abortion even be an option if we could perceive each tiny person who dies in the same
light as we perceived the images of the dead and dying at the Trade Center? In reality, there is no difference.
Death of a human is a death of a human, no matter what the age. Respect for life needs to prevail in all stages and
ages of life. The Pregnancy Help Center exists to help mothers and their precious
