About
Us The Stephen Ministry is an organization of people who want to help other people in their time of special
need. It is all about care giving and care receiving. Being there for someone who needs a person to talk to and
also listen to. It is a special calling. The organization has been a part
of St. Luke Church since 1985. The ministry fits the mission of the church by providing spiritual nourishment and in
some ways, helping to promote Christen values. This ministry is built around God's love and how we can share our
gift of love with other less fortunate people. Stephen Ministry serves as a resource
for people in need by providing a friend, someone who truly wants to listen to someone's needs. Stephen ministers are trained to care for those experiencing grief, depression, or any kind of personal
crisis. They are assigned one-on-one to a minister to meet those needs. Stephen ministers are not counselors,
but a group of lay individuals who have completed over 50 hours of training and have 5 hours per month of continuing education
and supervision throughout their two-year commitment. If you are need of the services
of a Stephen Minister, please call. We are here to help you. All
