Liturgy Notes Prayer, fasting and almsgiving are the traditional acts of Lenten repentance.
In the Gospel of Matthew it says these acts are not to be performed for the acclaim of others but rather done in secret, that
the heavenly Father may reward us.
Reflection:Is the reward of our heavenly Father
enough or do you need more? |
| |We endeavor to lead our students to an
ever-eper perception of the precious gift of faith through active participation in the sacramental and spiritual life of the
Church. We help students to recognize the many talents God has given them. We challenge students to a life of Christian service,
as well as to an acceptance of their Christ-mandated role as justice-seekers and peacemakers in our multicultural society.
Come by the Hospitality Corner and ask our St. Luke Catholic School parents how you can be a part of the learning experience
in our St. Luke Catholic Community.

| || A Prayer for Ash Wednesday
Thank you to the St. Luke School Third Grade parents,
who will host the Hospitality Corner today, Sunday, March 2, after the 8:00 and 10:00 am Masses. Come by the Hospitality
Corner for some coffee, doughnuts and fellowship. The Hospitality Corner will be closed next Sunday. Please visit the St. Joseph’s
Table and support the Youth Program. The Fiesta Committee will host on March 16.
Year in Faith
Ash Wednesday, March 5, is when we receive ashes in the sign of
the cross on our foreheads. Receiving the ashes is a sign of humility and contrition. It also is when we discover how many
Catholics are in our everyday life.
Reflection: Do you wear your ashes all day and use them as a learning opportunity for
non-Catholics, or do you wipe them off?
