About Us The purpose and mission of the Social Justice Concerns Committe is to promote awareness among our
parishioners about social justice, and to provide our parish with opportunities for service and advocacy related to social
justice issues. The Social Justice Concerns Committee is motivated by the Gospel
of Jesus Christ to cherish, preserve and uphold the sacredness and dignity of human life, foster charity and justice, and
embody Catholic social and moral teaching under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. We do this through education of ourselves
and others, service to those in need, and advocacy for those who cannot speak for themselves. Some past events the committee has initiated have included a CRS Fair Trade sale, a presentation by Fr. Greg
Boyle and lunch from Homegirl Café, a presentation by Fr. Chris on Consistent Life Ethic, and staging of “Pilgrims
and Prophets”. Meeting days and time vary. The committee usually meets every 2 to 3 weeks,
usually between Monday and Wednesday, from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. All are welcome to join. For more information or to join the ministry, email wendybmcgrail@earthlink.net |
