Election of four new members to the Parish Pastoral Council shall take place during the masses of May 2 and 3, 2009.  The candidates' names, introductory parish biography and pictures will be presented to the parish on a poster starting April 25th.  The outgoing members are Jane Chavez, Sam Magluyan, Tanya Mazzolini and Adrian Sanchez.  Installation of new members takes place during the 10:00 AM mass on June 14, 2009.

Watch for announcements in our Sunday bulletin and from the podium for this important coming event.

2. The Parish Pastoral Council serves as a consultative body at the pleasure of our pastor.  Several projects have originated as ideas by the council to the pastor. The Parish Resource Center is one of them. A more recent accomplishment is the institution of Online Donation. This idea was presented by Council Member Taffy Bishara.  With the joint efforts of the pastor and the finance committee, this was finally set up and is now available for use.  The process is simple but if you have any questions feel free to call the Parish Office.  We believe that this will help the parish and those using the Sunday envelopes.

3. The parish council also works with the Pastor on various ideas to help meet financial needs ofthe parish and the school.

4. We shall do our best to keep you posted on developments on many important matters and issues as the information becomes factual and reliable to disseminate.

:: PARISH COUNCIL NEWS: New Members and Upcoming Town Hall Meeting! (2008)
The results of our recent election are in, and new members have been elected.  The Parish Council is pleased to announce and welcome the four new members. They are: Dale Edgington, Sherrie Keelin, Margarita Papadopulos and Gene Read. (Actually, the popular vote put Steve Keelin in the office as well, but he decided he had to decline the position at this time.) Sam Magluyan is the new chairman, replacing Jane Chavez, and Christina Carlos is the new Co-Chairperson.  The newly elected council members will be commissioned at the 8:00 A.M. Mass on Sunday, June 1.
The Parish Council also thanks all those who volunteered to run for positions on the council. It was the largest slate of qualified candidates we have had in a very long time.
Fr. Tes thanks all parishioners for their involvement in the election process and congratulates those who were elected. He is looking forward to working with the new council members in the coming year. Many thanks, also, to the retiring members of the current Parish Council: Frank Coronado, Guy DeMarco, Linda Holst and Terry Smith.
The Parish Council will also be hosting a Town Hall Meeting on June 8 at 1:00 P.M.  The information at this meeting is of great importance to all parishioners and the community.  Everyone is encouraged to attend and play an active role in their parish activities.

Town Hall Meeting Follow up (February 2007)

The Parish Council would like to thank everyone who participated in our Town Hall Meeting on Sunday, February 18, 2007. We discussed many interesting topics and the questions and comments from our parishioners were very timely and interesting.

Topics covered were as diverse as discussions on the Cingular Wireless antenna and our upcoming Parish Resource Center to student safety issues and parish financial concerns.

A meeting such as our Town Hall Meeting would not be successful without an audience who is willing to not only listen, but offer their suggestions and comments as well. Thank you to all who attended.

Completed nomination forms will be accepted until March 27, 2007. They may be deposited in the collection basket, the boxes at the church exits or at the Parish Office.

Parish Council News (Jan. 28, 2007)

Greetings from your Parish Pastoral Council.

There are several items in the works that the Council wants to be sure all parishioners are aware of.

New Council Secretary – Adrian Sanchez, a member of the Parish Council since his election and installation last June, has graciously accepted the responsibility as Secretary of the Council.  This important position came open when our prior Secretary, after careful consideration, decided to resign from her position on the Council.  Congratulations Adrian!

Contacting Parish Council – There are several ways to contact your Parish Council.  In the Vestibule of the Church is a plaque with pictures and names of all the council members.  You are welcome to approach any Councilor at any time to ask questions or voice concerns.  Also in the Vestibule is a comment box where you can drop a note or suggestion for the council.  Now the Parish Web Site has been enhanced to give you a direct link to the Parish Council Page.  Once there, you will also have a link to the Parish Council e-mail where you can leave messages.  Or, just send an e-mail to your Council.  The address is ParishCouncil@StLukeTempleCity.org. We are anxious to hear from you.
