About Us
The Usher Ministry at St. Luke the Evanglist is a group of volunteers who take an
important role in the Masses.    Their responsibilities are to:
-arriving fifteen minutes early to Mass
-welcome guests to the Mass
-assist parishioners to the pews
-take collection and present the colletion
-guide the congregation to receive communion starting from the back of the church
-assist with a second collection, if indicated
-distribute papers/materials that help with the celebration
-hand out bulletings at the back of the church
-clean up and remove any scattered papers or bulletins left in the church
-take bags of food to the sacristy if donations are brought in

There is no formal training, but "on the job" training in which head ushers assist in teaching new ushers.  They do not operate on any rotating schedule. Each head usher is responsible for a particular Mass and need to have the adequate ushers for those masses.  They curerntly have a full staff of ushers.  Those interested in volunteering with the ushers are encouraged to contact the Parish Office.  Furthermore, the Usher Ministry is actively seeking female ushers who are willing to volunteer with the ministry.
